My first entry for March is just me ranting.
Due to the increasing generation cost for fuel power plants and of course, the dry spell for hydro power plants, these rotating brownouts in Mindanao are becoming a nuisance.
My work and virtual mundane affairs are now greatly affected. I can’t even plurk on-time for Pete’s sake. Yesterday we had this 6-hour brownout from 12noon to 4 p.m, and 8 p.m. to 10p.m. This usually starts to happen when the sun is up high in the sky. No kidding, the hot, humid weather is slowly killing me. I have read this power shortage might last until the month of June. Oh noes! I’m prompted to scour the mall tomorrow for a rechargeable lamp, emergency light or perhaps a battery operated fan. It seems like power generators are selling like hotcakes, huh? Too bad, I’m saving for a camera and an out-of-the-country trip on May so I can’t afford to spare some right now.
Good thing though, whenever I get brownouts, my parents’ house doesn’t – unless, there is a total blackout. Because our lines are attached to different substations, what my dad did last week was put a permanent switch that could at least give power to 2 desktops and a fan in my suite. Now, that’s a bit of relief there, right? Still, I can’t take the summer weather!
What we need is rain! Rain, rain don’t go away, come again today.

2009 has been a good year for me.
And because of that I’d like to highlight a few things:
At the start of 2010, I’m pretty sure you’re all geared up and ready to face the New Year. Not to mention going back to work (insert sad face here)… oh yeah and school resumes too. A bit sad though, but we have to let go of Christmas for now. Look at it this way – Christmas is like a beautiful dream. And a new year, on the other hand is like an alarm clock that snaps us back to reality. It simply means we got to wake up from that dream to face a new morning – a new year. For me, a new year symbolizes hope and new opportunities to explore. So, let’s toast to that! And to quote Oprah, “Cheers to a New Year and another chance for us to get it right.”
Special shout-out to Rolly for making me use his 2010 3d photo.

There’s nothing sadder in this world than to awake Christmas morning and not be a child. ~Erma Bombeck, I Lost Everything in the Post-Natal Depression

They say, the older you get, the wiser you become. I knew I got older but I’m not so sure with the latter, LOL. I believe wisdom is learned and earned not just something you obtain overnight. Seriously, I don’t feel old at all. I’m not worried of my age either. I do accept the fact that I’ll be turning 30 next year. Those two numbers don’t scare me at all. Truth is, I’m still childish and immature. Funny though during my birthday my tita asked if I just turned 25. I thought she was joking and when I looked at her I knew she was seriously inquiring. I laughed and said, “No, actually it’s 29. But I’ll be happy to be 25!”
Yaya e-mailed me and asked me when I plan to settle down. Answer is, I do not know. I am enjoying my life right now. No commitments, no responsibilities. C’mon, let me enjoy it for another two or three years
. And maybe that’s the time I’ll decide whether I’ll marry or I’ll just go find a suitable ‘donor’ LOL
. IMHO, Life is not short, really. It’s a long and winding road so I’d rather keep my options open.
Enough of the what-I-think-of-life stuff. So, here’s what I got for my birthday – a ton of books from Reign, a cake from my look-a-like niece Miel and this one-of-its-kind necklace from Lurchie. Yay to all! Thank you so much! You made my birthday extra special.

Books, necklace, and my pretty niece Miel.
Life at 29 is no different at all from the life I had a year ago. There may be changes but nothing big. So, here are 29 random, dull and silly things about me:
Birthday wish: May he win that lottery so I’ll get my 25% (LOL)
Birthday resolutions: Get more exercise, read more, infuse more patience into my system.
Arrivederci!
I got this from Lurchie’s blog entry about 12 Things That Are True About Me Right Now. I reckon this could be a good mind exercise :p So here goes.
I keep counting the days ‘til my most favorite time of the year – Christmas! It just reminds of the good ol’ days, the feeling of waking up on Christmas morning finding my huge Christmas sock filled with gifts and candies, chocolates and whatnot. I could remember my very first gift – a blue bmx bike. My Christmas wish this year? A basket of Bath & Body goodies Mailed you a letter a long time ago,
Told you my heart’s desire that you must know
But I knew the letter didn’t reach your hands,
Now the moment’s gone leaving things undone.
Should I blame the postman?
Should I blame the storm?
I said I was sorry, I hope you know
10. Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar is driving me nuts right now (num!)
11. I’m wondering if Blithe will agree to trade her laptop with mine.
12. I have downloaded tons of Christmas songs and I keep playing them over and over again.
I’m done!
Maybe next time I can do a list of 24 things. *Grins* I’m actually in search of 365 topics for blogging and share it with The Girl with Mud Smudged Cheeks. I hope to find one before the new years. Hey, join now and follow me in Plurk.
