I’d like to be me!

If Sunday is still ‘rest day’ for everyone, it’s work day for me. But I always take time to stop and smell the flowers. So, I got this question from Lurchie’s Sunday Snippets – “If you could be any person in the world, who would you be, and why?”

For a moment there, I felt like I was back in my grade school beauty pageant because I got the very same question (ack!). A decade and a half ago my answer was this- I would like to be in the shoes of Jose Rizal, our National Hero because he gave up his life to save our country. In order to win, you need to give an answer that everyone will appreciate. *laughs* Ugh! Let’s move on, please.

My answer to the question would be ME! I still want to be me. Amidst every small and huge problem I encountered, I still want to be me. One reason would have to be my family. I can’t imagine life without them. A few years back, my family (and that means everyone!) had to go through a painful situation when my aunt died. I’ve seen my mom and her siblings break down. It was a painful scene to look at but we gotta move on! Life doesn’t stop there. So no matter what the others say, we are still intact. In fact our bond even became stronger even if we had to lose some. And yes, we are still as happy as before, or perhaps, even happierr!

‘Nuff sentiments said. But if I were to choose, it has got to be a few people:

• Aviatrix Amelia Earheart. She has that courage and determination I wanted to have. I think her disappearance will forever be a mystery. Oh well, ain’t life a big mystery too?
• Angelina Jolie for… hello? Do I have to spell it out?
• Stephenie Meyer – I admire how her mind works. I’m currently reading The Host, by the way.
• Fergie!…simply because she’s with Josh Duhamel.

Well, those are just wishful thoughts. But at the end of the day, I still want to be ME because I had one helluva journey and more roads ahead to take on.
